CLUB DEVELOPMENT
In 2005, Sewerby CC was one of the first clubs in Yorkshire to achieve the nationally acclaimed
ECB CLUBMARK ACCREDITATION in partnership with Sport England. Now, four years later, the reaccreditation procedure has been successfully negotiated and we are again, one of the first clubs to receive the
CLUBMARK RE-ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE
In order to gain the certificate, the club had to provide evidence for and demonstrate implementation of the four themes, briefly summarised below
1. Duty of Care and Safeguarding Children: (Coaches are ECB qualified & CRB checked)
2. The Cricket Programme: (There is a regular structured coaching programme for juniors)
3. Sports Equity and Ethics: (The Club Constitution is open, non-discriminatory and sets out a code of Conduct for members and guests)
4. Club Management: (The club is managed on a day-to-day basis by a General Committee, which annually produces and reviews a Development Plan)
At a local level, the East Riding of Yorkshire Council runs its own accreditation scheme (ERCAS) and Sewerby CC is proud to have achieved Level 2. Both Clubmark and ERCAS authenticate that the club is recognised as a high quality community cricket club with a safe and effective junior section
